  • Jesus Makes the Difference

  • Which is the simplest and easiest place where a person can be holy? At the church, in big groups, impersonal relationships and having an individualized lifestyle. And which is the hardest place, and for that matter, more significant, where a person can be holy? At home, when you’re with your family, where everything they say is submitted to an automatic spiritual test that tries to match reality. At home, all the religiousness, hypocrisy and manipulation are hopelessly sentenced to death.

The daily life at home is the best place to receive the life of Christ and let it show itself in a relevant way, for home is the place of truth, of close relationships, place of communion and commitment. Therefore, it’s a life changing place. There is where we share what we have, where Christians assume personally the true pastoral ministry.

The conversion of the first Christians didn’t happen because of theology, but it did happen based on a daily life with the presence of Jesus. The Lord Himself borrowed elements from the everyday life to share His message, for only someone willing to change his life was really ready to receive the Gospel.

This is the reason why Jesus’ teaching and his personality became the most admirable points of attraction for people – both teaching and people would blend together and it would make a difference. The Church didn’t preach about itself, but it preached this Jesus and his teachings, and the Church lived what He had proclaimed.

God is in the process of reconquer again our homes and our daily lives as a testimony on earth. The Church which is rising again does not only bring a message, but it is a living message, a great spiritual family – not organized, but organic; not formal, but focused on relationships.
